TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – In cooperation with the Elementary Executive Family Council of the Basic Education School, the University of Saint Louis Elementary Unit celebrated Family Day 2023 at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium, on Saturday, November 25.

To kickstart the celebration, pupils, parents, faculty, and administrators attended the Eucharistic celebration at the Good Shepherd Chapel.

The families of pre-school to Grade 6 pupils joined a short parade, accompanied by the Elementary drumline, from the main gate at Mabini street going to the back gate at the gymnasium along Lecaros street at Barangay Ugac Sur.

In his speech at the gymnasium, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D. reminded the role of parents in shaping young minds and emphasized that it is essential to “disconnect digitally, reconnect with family”.

“This is a time to appreciate the precious gift of family. Let us cherish the moments we share – big and small. Let us express our love and gratitude […] Let us make this celebration a time of camaraderie, fun and achievement,” he said.

The event was graced with a Zumba performance by Elementary faculty, a Bingo game, and raffle draw where a TCL Digital Television and Haier Twin Tube Washing Machine was claimed as the 1st and 2nd prize, respectively.
