TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The School of Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology Education (SEAITE) reigned supreme in Sepak Takraw against the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS), 2-0, during a championship match in the 58th Founding Anniversary of the University of Saint Louis, Friday morning, February 17.

The SEAITE Dragons dropped an 18-16, in the decision game to salvage the first place in the third day of the foundation week.

Serpents from SHAS settled for second place after falling short on set wins.

The kickfest tracked on the first regu 2-0 (21-8, 21-11), favoring SEAITE.

In the following regu, SHAS clinched the second set before losing the decision in a close match, 2-1 (21-11, 16-21, 18-16).

SEAITE Tekong Ariel Jake Delfin, with setters and attackers Bumatay and Cudiamat of the second regu, secured a top finish for their school.

Delfin stated that they gave their best efforts to win explaining that it is like their last game on the court and all of the players of his chinlone team are graduating students of the school.

“Lahat binigay namin kasi ‘yung mga teammates namin ay graduating. Parang last game na namin sa court kaya ginawa namin ang lahat para mag-champion,” he said in a post-game interview.

“We gave our all because our teammates are graduating. It is like our last game on the court, that’s why we did everything we could to be champions.”
