On July 23 and 24, I am once again competing in Sports Writing (Filipino) at BALI-TAktakan. After the Division Online Writeshop last year, 2020.

This is gonna be my first time to try-out in an Online Press Conference. Yesterday, the registration for the Sports Event closed. I will be the lone Cagayano in the competition. The only Sports Writer in Tuguegarao City to be part of the clash.

“Isports Balitaktakan: Ang Unang Bakbakan” is a One-Shot Battle Competition of Balitaktakan Online Press Conference.

I still have 2 days to prepare for the conference and I am really excited for it. This will be the first time I will write in Tagalog medium because I have been writing in English for 5 years.

I will be a 4th-year Student in the next school year. Been a Campus Journalist since 2016 and tried 4 Events in writing. Mainly, Sports and News Writing. Column and Essay, which is a staple of mine.

Fun Fact: I joined Ped Xing: Politics 101 Camp earlier this year.

This will be a new one. I will compete with Sports Writers older and younger than me all throughout the the Philippines. Win or lose, I will still be a Sports Writer.

I don’t expect that much. I enjoy writing as a hobby and I write because I want to. Not because I have to. Creating these articles make me happy because I know worked hard to do it. It is an art, but not all can appreciate it.

I still have a year left in Junior High School so I will join OPC’s for now because they are still there. Even online I can still join in Press Conferences. It gave me a chance to compete with other Campus Journalists in the country with the same passion as mine.

I know there are more students who share the same skills with me so I urge every writer to join Online Press Conferences, even in your local divisions.

This is the time we can prove to ourselves that we can still compete in the New Normal. Journalism doesn’t sleep. The Press is always awake. TUGUEther We Win.
