Blog 25 – Why does the signal strength of some phones weaken whenever there is a power outage?

That is what I am experiencing right now as I am writing this post. I can’t connect to the internet and even if I am using my data, the connection is slow. To be honest, I don’t even have WiFi. The one I have is data plans. I buy load and register just to have internet.
When this blog is uploaded, that means our power is restored and my data connection is stable. That is only the time I can move this draft to WordPress and upload it (I am currently writing on my notepad). #ImJustBored
What Telco or Internet Provider do you recommend for a student like me?
PLDT, Globe or the new DITO Telecommunity. One thing is sure, I will not settle for less. We need WIFI here at home, obviously. I have been using data for more than a year now. From my TM Sim Card until I switched to Smart, which is the faster than TM. It has the best offers you could imagine. Only if you have lots of load and money to buy it, then you can go for a All-Giga Plan.
As a student having online classes in this difficult times, problems like this would leave impacts in my studies. I know it’s not a big deal for others, but for me it’s more of like a sacrifice. Many students like me experience this. Though some are privileged to have complete sets of Internet and gadgets, we continue to struggle in darkness.
Now for the Good News
“The Philippines moved up to the 86th spot in the global mobile internet speed rankings in January 2021, according to data from an Ookla report. This is a marked improvement from its 111th rank in the same period last 2020. For fixed broadband, the country’s average download speed was recorded at 32.73 Mbps”. -DICT
Internet speed in the Philippines is continuing to improve. I hope the support of the people to providers are bigger. The amount of work and sacrifice we give back should be like this everytime. This post is not against the said Telcos nor privileged people, as long as they are thankful and they deserve what they have, it’s alright. Our time will come.
